How Bible Kids Fun Zone/ Sunday School Fun Zone Got Started:

As a preschooler I thought scribbling was great fun! While growing up, making crafts, such as holiday decorations, paper dolls, or making clothes for my baby dolls would end up being days-long projects.

Art and creative writing were my favorite subjects in school. However, at some point, after getting into a "practical career" the "budding little artist in me "fell asleep" for a while. Soon after starting in medical transcription, I knew it wasn't really "me", and the "sleeping creative child" in me "woke up": I couldn't rest until I was able to use my creativity again, in a major way.

After getting a degree in fashion design, I began designing womens' sportswear in Los Angeles part-time for Saga, while also transcribing part-time. After suffering a partial carpal tunnel injury, and with my growing interest to use my creative skills in other areas, I began seeking the Lord's guidance on which direction my career

should take. I believe the Lord was working "behind the scenes" through this difficult time to guide me: While assisting with the preschoolers at L.A.C.C. in Pasadena, there was a need for crafts and coloring pages to go with the Sunday school lessons that were being taught, so I began creating some for the children. The kids always seemed to like them, so that encouraged me. I loved working with the children, and I learned as I went along.

After creating some Sunday school materials for my sister's website, I had more ideas than I knew what to do with. With the Lord's prompting, I decided to branch out on my own. While working part-time to make ends meet, I began creating preschool Sunday school resources and building the Bible Kids Fun Zone. Between the two jobs, I was working a lot of hours. My spirit was willing, but I knew I couldn't continue much longer on so little sleep. There came a point I felt I had no choice: With much prayer, the Lord enabled me to take a "leap of faith" to go full-time with the business even before I felt financially comfortable. Bible Kids Fun Zone website was launched in 2002.

Sunday School Fun Zone was later added to fill a need for a complete year-round Sunday school curriculum for preschoolers. My Bible Crafts was added when there were more craft ideas with no place to go. The Lord has blessed the business, growing it over the years. I am thankful for the Lord leading me into it (ironically, as a result of an injury), growing it, and sustaining me through the hard times. I am grateful for all of the support, encouragement and friendships that I have enjoyed through the business. I look forward to whatever the Lord has in store for the business in the future, and hope to make lots more free resources. Thank you for your prayers and support!

Beliefs / Statement of Faith
Bible Kids Fun Zone Fundamental Christian Beliefs:

Bible Kids Fun Zone / Sunday School Fun Zone holds to fundamental Christian beliefs, though I don't agree with the practices of some "fundamental Christian" groups (pointing the finger at certain sins, showing hatred or prejudice against people who sin in specific ways, certain types of political protests, "in-your-face witnessing", etc. (We are all sinners, saved only by God's grace and believe "witnessing" is best done by our actions, or in humility and gentleness when asked about our beliefs).

The 66 books of Bible, which make up the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, infallible Word of God; and the Bible is without error in their original languages.

God forever exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God is the sovereign creator of all things; yet He is a personal God who desires relationship with all people.

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life. He died on the cross as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for all of humankind's sins. He rose from the dead, went back up to heaven, and lives with the God the Father, where he intercedes for believers. He will come again (soon!) to set up his kingdom that will last for eternity.

After Jesus ascended to Heaven, He sent His Holy Spirit on the believers in Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit is our (believers) helper and comforter, empowering us to live godly lives.

All people are, by nature, separated from God because of their sin. The only way to the Father is through the Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation, redemption, and forgiveness are freely offered to all people everywhere by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When a person repents of his/her sin and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, trusting Him for salvation, they are born of the Spirit (born again) and sealed by the Holy Spirit; all his/her sins are forgiven. They becomes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.

We as believers are each given spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ. Love is more important than any of these gifts. Without love, these gifts are useless.

Version of the Bible Bible Kids Fun Zone Uses

If you are looking for a Sunday school curriculum that uses KJV, no particular version is used. Bible verse references are given. You mark your Bible (The verses are explained in the lesson) and read from the version of you choice for several reasons:

Because of copyrights. Even KJV is under copyright protection in England; and SSFZ / BKFZ curriculum is sold worldwide.

Because there many preferences for many different versions.

I think its good that children see you reading from the Bible so that they know what is actually in the Bible, and what is discussion about the Bible story., or the Bible story told in a simpler way.

For my own Bible study, I use KJV alongside other versions. I do not have a favorite version of the Bible, and prefer to look at the original languages sometimes. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
